DOGE Reversal? No, This Was the Plan All Along

Uno reverse? Not exactly….

According to an article from The New Republic, the government has started hiring new employees to fill the positions DOGE eliminated several months ago (many of whom are still being paid thanks to the “Fork in the Road” offers).

These positions are opening back up and they’re hiring. But, to quote one anonymous NOAA official:

How much time/money is it going to cost to train a bunch of new people when we had already-trained people in place?

Good question.

But that assumes that we take DOGE at its word with regard to its plans.

Unfortunately, the fact is that DOGE was never about efficiency.

Elon just needed a word starting with E because he wanted to name the initiative after his favorite meme.

If it had been “DOGS” we would’ve seen a new “Government Safety” office put into place.

It also was never about saving money. The “Big Beautiful Bill” proves Republicans don’t care about saving money anymore. Fiscal conservatism is dead.

It was really about replacing career federal employees with Trump loyalists.

Look at the questionnaire on USAJobs.com. Applicants have to write an essay about how they will implement the President’s EOs if selected to the position.

Not how will they support and defend the Constitution, but how will they support and defend this President.

Let me say it again. This was their plan all along.

Don’t just take my word for it. Karoline Leavitt let it slip that they planned to replace us back in February.

I included her comments in my very first blog post, when I asked, “what did I do to deserve this?”

[Federal employees are] welcome to take this buyout and we’ll find highly competent individuals who want to fill these roles.

So, as much as I want to celebrate this supposed reversal of DOGE policy, I really see it as just them revealing what their plan was all along.
