We have now learned that for $5 million anyone can have a private dinner with The Donald. If that’s too rich for your blood, for just $1 million you can have a meal with him in a group setting.

Sadly, we’ve reached the point where the President taking $5 million for a meeting isn’t even called out as a bribe, because it’s like the twelfth most obscene thing he’s done this week. But, that sure sounds like a bribe to me.
Meanwhile, Elon received a chainsaw a couple weeks ago as a gift from the president of Argentina.

Every year I take mandatory ethics training in order to remain a federal government employee. In the training, we learn about the Foreign Gifts and Decorations Act. So, I know that government employees can not accept any gift valued more than $480 from a representative of a foreign government.
We are instructed that we must refuse the gift immediately when offered. If, and only if, the refusal would be inappropriate due to making a scene, we do have one alternative. We are allowed to accept it, but must immediately turn it over to our agency. They will dispose of it of appropriately.
According to one article I found, the parts used to make the chainsaw are worth around $500. This is before the “artwork” is even created from the materials. They’re working on a second one for Donald, and I think that falls under the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.
If we want to fire the employees who are engaging in fraud, waste, and abuse in the federal government, I have two suggestions!
